Champion Pachuca continued its winning streak in its debut in the 2025 Apertura tournament of the Liga MX Femenil after thrashing Puebla 5-1 in the matchday one match, played yesterday at Cuauhtémoc Stadium.
With this resounding victory, the Tuzas moved into first place in the overall standings with three points. Their rivals remained in 17th place, with no points.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 18th minute, when Myra Delgadillo took advantage of a through ball from Natalia Mauleón to unleash a powerful right-footed shot to make it 1-0.
Just one minute later (19), Pachuca extended its lead, after Nina Nicosia connected with a service from Charlyn Corral to make it 2-0.
From that moment on, the Tuzas began a cascade of goals. Andrea Pereira made it 3-0 in the 30th minute with a corner kick, and Corral made it 4-0 in the 33rd minute with a left-footed shot in the box.
Puebla scored in the 41st minute thanks to a shot from outside the area by Luisa de Alba.
In the final stretch, in the 86th minute, the Tuzas delivered their fifth blow, after Pereira executed an exceptional free kick to seal the rout.
In the women's youth classic
, América secured its first win of the tournament after defeating Cruz Azul 2-1 at the Ciudad de los Deportes stadium.
Thus, the Eagles moved into fourth place with three points. The Celestes, meanwhile, remained in 15th place, with no points.
The Azulcremas took the lead in the 11th minute with a goal from Kiana Palacios and extended their lead in the 83rd minute with a penalty taken by Scarlett Camberos. Aerial Chavarín scored for the cement workers in the 90th minute.
Pumas also got off to a good start in the tournament after thrashing Monterrey 4-0. The goals at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario came from Ximena Ríos (33), Stephanie Ribeiro (48 and 54), and Alejandra Guerrero (87).
Thanks to this victory, the Auriazules are second in the standings with three points. Meanwhile, the Rayadas remained in last place (18), with no points.
At the Alfonso Lastras stadium, a double by Alicia Cervantes (in the 8th and 90+5th minutes) allowed Chivas to debut with a 2-0 victory against Atlético de San Luis and earn their first three points.
