Vain roars in León: Four home runs to support Yoanner Negrín

The Lions came crashing down to León, where the ball flies like crazy.
Yucatán took a significant lead with home runs and took an 8-1 lead against the home Braves in the first game of the series at Domingo Santana Stadium, which was rained out at the end of the seventh inning.
On the mound, the Lions also had a great pitching career from an inspired Yoanner Negrín. The Cuban "Asere," seeking his 77th victory with the Lions, pitched five innings with four hits, two walks, and two strikeouts. Negrín relieved him.
Down 1-0 on the scoreboard, the Lions did what they had to do at a park like Santana: hit the ball well, something they struggled with at venues like Puebla, Querétaro, and Oaxaca, where, despite the stadium's amenities, they didn't know how to hit.
And they went all out in the fourth inning, putting together a run that erased the Braves' minimal lead they had taken in the second inning.
Yadir Drake was the hero of that attack, blasting a bases-loaded home run to the opposite field, and Cuban Aledmys Díaz followed with a home run to seal the five-run scoring spree.
In the fifth, Wynton Benard also homered, and in the seventh, Díaz repeated the prank, with Drake on base.
The Braves were batting in the bottom of the seventh off Jimmy Endersby's pitches when the downpour began, forcing the game to be suspended. At press time, the rain continued to fall on the "Domingo Santana" stadium.
Sad ending for the Lions in León: they were winning 8-1 and lost 9-8
