CHILPANCINGO, Gro., (apro) .- Acapulco experienced a night of violence. Attacks and armed clashes between criminal organizations left four people dead, including a woman, three injured, and three vehicles burned.

At around 8:30 p.m., three vehicles were reported to have caught fire simultaneously at different points along the Mexico-Acapulco highway, from the Las Cruces neighborhood on the outskirts of the port to the Kilometer 30 settlement.

In the Ciudad Renacimiento neighborhood, a taxi on the Las Cruces-El 30 route was set on fire outside its base, on Vicente Guerrero Boulevard.

Near the community of Paso Texca, a Chevrolet pickup truck was burned, and near Lomas de San Juan, before reaching El 30, a city bus on the Costera route was cut off on the federal highway.

An armed group then stormed the Kilómetro 30 community and fired at a taxi stand that was still in operation, leaving five taxis, a home, and a store with bullets. A taxi driver was pulled from his vehicle and killed.

From the hill, members of the criminal cell "Los Arizmendi," which operates in that area, responded with long weapons, according to security sources.

The attackers left in the direction of Xaltianguis.

According to media sources who attended the scene, the community commissioner, Adán Casarrubias Flores, reported that four deaths were recorded, including that of an elderly woman, as well as three injuries.

Three hours after the violence, the Guerrero Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that, after learning of the report, members of the Army, Navy, National Guard, state Attorney General's Office, and State Police deployed an operation in the area.

The SSP stated in a statement that, as a result of the initial actions of the operation, the town of Kilómetro 30 was secured and remained under the protection of security forces.

Two people have been preliminarily found dead.

The Guerrero State Attorney General's Office reported that it has initiated an investigation to clarify the events that occurred and that personnel from the Ministerial Investigative Police (PIM) and specialized forensics have been deployed to the area to begin investigations and gather evidence.

Classes at all levels of schools were suspended in that community.

In its monthly report, the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SNSP) reported that in April, Guerrero was the state with the second highest number of intentional homicide victims, with 169, behind only Guanajuato, which recorded 195. In the first four months of the year, the state has recorded 405 murders.
