Rubén Blades will attend the Cordillera Festival: he will be one of the main artists.

Panamanian Rubén Blades , considered one of the most important and transcendental artists of Latin American music, confirmed this Monday his attendance at the Cordillera Festival , which will take place on September 13 and 14, in the Simón Bolívar metropolitan park in Bogotá.

“ 50 years of hymns, joy, and rebellion expressed through dance, his powerful voice has narrated the stories of Latin America, and his name is an entire chapter in the history of our continent. In September, Simón Bolívar Park is the stage to celebrate one of the greatest: maestro Rubén Blades ,” the festival commented on Instagram.

'The poet of salsa' will arrive in the Colombian capital accompanied by the Roberto Delgado Big Band , a group that usually accompanies him in his performances and was featured on the artist's latest album.

The announcement was made by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Residente , who has taken Blades' work as inspiration. In a video, the urban artist, also known for having been part of the group Calle 13, said: " No one in music has your literary work, because your music is about people who exist, real people. You taught me that art is above all things, although the story of Superman sells more than Ramiro's. You educated me with your lyrics. You are a father to me ."

It is worth remembering that the last time Blades, performer of songs such as 'Pedro Navaja', 'Amor y control', 'Plástico' or 'Plantación adentro', performed in Colombia was in 2022 , when he was promoting 'Salsawing', a full-length album composed of 11 songs full of salsa and jazz.

Confirmed artists

So far, three artists have been confirmed for this highly anticipated music festival. In addition to Blades, Fito Páez and La Mosca Tsé-Tsé will also be attending , according to Blu Radio.

In the case of the experienced singer-songwriter from Rosario, who was the notable absentee from the 2024 edition due to a health problem he suffered at his home in Argentina, he will perform in 2025 to fulfill his pending appointment in Simón Bolívar Park .
