Inspire courage

My daughter and partner are sailing with our grandchild Sophie (6) on the Mooie Nel.

Sophie can almost swim independently and the plan is that she will go into the water on that sunny day.

On closer inspection, the water temperature appears to be on the cold side and the plan is changed: my son-in-law goes first.

So my daughter says to Sophie, “Just give Daddy encouragement.” To which Sophie says, “Daddy, Mommy wants you to do it!”
