Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Local Government Officials The health of Lower Silesia's residents remains one of the highest priorities of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Government. Therefore, to address real health threats, we are launching another important preventive health program: "A Health Policy Program for the Prevention of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infections for the Residents of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for 2025–2027." Vaccination is an effective and safe form of protection, recommended by doctors and health organizations worldwide. That's why Lower Silesia is taking steps to significantly reduce the risk of future HPV infections. The program is targeted at two main groups: young people aged 15-25, who will receive a free HPV vaccination. Each vaccination will be accompanied by a medical assessment and an information package on infection prevention. The program is also aimed at parents of children aged 9-18, healthcare professionals, and a broad range of residents of our region. For this group, we have prepared educational activities, including lectures, training sessions, as well as printed and digital materials (leaflets, posters, infographics), aimed at disseminating knowledge about the HPV virus, the routes of infection, and cancer prevention options. We are implementing this program in partnership with an experienced partner, Cogito Med, responsible for organizing vaccinations, educational activities, and contacts with educational and medical institutions. I kindly ask you to support our initiative, in particular by publishing information about the program on the websites and social media of your offices, distributing information materials to schools, educational institutions and local institutions, and encouraging residents to participate in vaccinations.
I believe that thanks to your commitment, the program will reach the widest possible audience, and Lower Silesia will become a region that effectively combats HPV-related cancers. Let's work together to improve the health of our residents.
With respect, Paul Gancarz
Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship
