The series was truly numerous. In Budomierz alone, in the last days of July, Border Guard officers discovered seven fake registration certificates allegedly issued by offices in the UK. As we know, the documents were presented for inspection by four Ukrainian citizens who were exporting used cars from Poland. The documents were entirely forged, and the drivers explained that they were only providing transport services and were unaware of the irregularities in the documents.
– The officers also checked the cars transported on the trailers for legality, but they were not identified as having been stolen. The documents were seized, and the foreigners were questioned as witnesses.
– reports Lieutenant of the Border Guard P. Zakielarz.
Korczowa also saw a forgery. On Thursday, July 31st, officers discovered a counterfeit Ukrainian registration certificate, which a 47-year-old Ukrainian citizen presented for inspection. The document lacked numerous security features. The man admitted to using the forgery and voluntarily accepted a four-month prison sentence, suspended for one year.
– The document has been seized and the case will be referred to court.
– reported the BiOSG press service in this case.
A fake registration certificate purporting to be Norwegian was also discovered on Saturday, August 2nd in Medyka. The document was used by a Ukrainian citizen traveling in a Fiat, who claimed he was not the owner of the car, but merely a volunteer who was supposed to transport it across the border.
– The questioned document was seized, and the foreigner was questioned as a witness. Border Guard officers are conducting further investigations into the matter.
– inform the services.
