A sudden turnaround in the Nawrocki apartment case. "Another lie has surfaced"

Karol Nawrocki posted a video on social media just before the presidential debate began, in which he argued "what the real story is" with the apartment and Mr. Jerzy. The PiS presidential candidate showed a letter in it, which he said was from 2011. However, the letter shows the date 12.11.2012. TVN24 reported that the man was in custody from 19 November 2011 to 17 May 2012.

Nawrocki allegedly gave a false date for the letter, because that was how he wanted to prove his thesis. On 20 October 2011, Mr. Jerzy bought a council flat, for which Karol Nawrocki had paid the office in cash the day before. On the same day, the man left his entire estate in his will to the current president of the Institute of National Remembrance. The notarial deed of the flat purchase is dated 21 October 2011.

Only one of the letters provided was from the period when Mr. Jerzy was in custody. The second one is dated to the time when Nawrocki had a preliminary agreement to buy an apartment from the man for nine months. The PiS presidential candidate signed the notarial deed while Mr. Jerzy was in custody. It is not yet known how this happened. The circumstances of the loan that Nawrocki spoke about in the film are also unknown.

He argued that in 2010 the man asked the head of the Institute of National Remembrance for a loan to buy it out, so that the costs would be lower. The issue of selling the apartment was supposed to come up a year later. “Gazeta Wyborcza” found out that on Wednesday evening, information appeared in the land and mortgage register that the studio apartment already has a new owner, which Nawrocki had announced. Until the new owner is entered, it will not be possible to check who the owner is or in what form the property was sold. It could take up to six months.
