Educational matters in the foreground, culture in the background. Councillors have booked budget shifts, finding money for investments in education

Due to the fact that last year the income from the sale of alcoholic beverages was over PLN 150,000 higher than the expenditure, the councillors decided to allocate this surplus to the implementation in all schools
[middle1]attractive programs in the Municipality of Jarosław. These will include dance and robotics, chess classes and athletics classes, as well as a bicycle program through Jarosław. This will certainly make the school offer more attractive and will serve teachers and students.
– We will offer such classes in all schools, and the distribution of funds will depend primarily on the interest of students in such classes in a given school – announced Mayor Marcin Nazarewicz.
The session also focused on the issue of the sports fields at primary schools no. 4 and 10. The city budget allocated PLN 25,000 for each of them. In connection with the changes concerning city finances, adopted at the last session, doubts arose as to whether these investments were not at risk, since the expenditures for both of these tasks were reduced by PLN 50,000. The director of the Department of Municipal Funds and Investments of the Jarosław City Office referred to this issue. Jolanta Marszał, explaining that there is no threat to the above-mentioned investments and that they will be implemented as planned thanks to post-tender savings.
Councillor Mariusz Walter asked on this occasion whether the tasks resulting from the MOF have any connection with the plans to create a third cultural centre, which were mentioned in the previous term. Mayor M. Nazarewicz confirmed that it was indeed said that the Centre for Borderland Cultures is to be created as part of the MOF recruitment.
– However, it will not be a separate entity. The application states that it will be part of the Culture and Promotion Centre, and if the two cultural entities in the city (CKiP and JOKiS – author's note) are merged, it will be part of the one that will be created from this merger – he explained.
Changes to the city budget for the current year were also introduced in connection with the request of the management of Primary School No. 5 named after Baśka Puzon, taking into account the renovation of the Orlik pitch operating at this institution. This will be the second stage of the modernization of the pitches complex.
