Gas subsidy. Recruitment will start in mid-July

- July marks the end of the period for submitting applications for funding from the Clean Air program.
- Beneficiaries are divided into three groups. Depending on their income, they are entitled to a lower or higher subsidy.
- The application process for gas subsidies begins in mid-July.
The so-called transitional period in the new version of the Clean Air program is ending. It was launched on March 31, 2025 and gives the possibility of obtaining subsidies for expenses incurred from May 28, 2024. Applications can be submitted only until the end of July , after which - as reported by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management - the possibility ceases to apply.
As of August 1, a new rule applies to the Clean Air program - eligible expenses will only be recognized if they were incurred no later than 6 months before submitting the application for funding. Costs incurred earlier or before the building is formally put into use will not be taken into account.
Clean Air Beneficiaries - who can benefit and in what amount?Beneficiaries are divided into three groups . Depending on their income, they are entitled to a lower or higher subsidy.
- The basic level provides for subsidies of up to 40 percent of eligible investment costs, and such support can be used by those whose annual income does not exceed PLN 135,000.
- The second group includes those whose monthly income per person amounts to PLN 2,250 in a multi-person household, and PLN 3,150 in a single-person household; for them, support is limited to 70% of eligible costs.
- The highest level of support, up to 100% of costs, applies to monthly incomes of up to PLN 1,300 per person in multi-person households or up to PLN 1,800 in a single-person household. The highest subsidies are also available to people who have an established right to benefits - permanent, periodic, family or special care allowance. Owners of houses or premises whose demand for usable energy for heating exceeds 140 kWh/m2 per year are eligible for this support threshold.
The current version of the program specifies maximum costs for individual investment elements . The level of subsidy has also been limited to accompanying works necessary for the implementation of the investment, but not being its main element. Limits of unit subsidies have also been set per square meter of insulation surface of ceilings, floors and walls, as well as for windows.
NFOŚiGW reminds that VAT is not an eligible cost , therefore its cost will always be borne by the beneficiary.
For example, for thermal modernization and installation of a ground heat pump, at the highest subsidy level it will be possible to receive PLN 170,100, at the increased level - PLN 119,70, and at the basic level - PLN 68,40. For a thermal modernization investment and an air/water heat pump, it will be, respectively: PLN 140,300, PLN 98,210 and PLN 56,120.
Gas subsidy. Recruitment will start in mid-JulyThose who are waiting for the reopening of the recruitment for gas subsidies will have such an opportunity soon, in mid-July.
To take full advantage of this, you must first apply under the current transitional period for expenses related to, for example, building insulation, replacing windows and doors or ventilation . Only then will you be able to submit a second application - this time for a gas subsidy, when recruitment resumes in mid-July under the older version of the program applicable in 2024.
It is worth remembering: if the first application submitted is for a gas subsidy, and not the one for thermal modernization in the new recruitment, it will be possible to use the next recruitment only after the completion and settlement of this investment. The reverse order - i.e. thermal modernization first (application in the new version of the program), then gas (application in the previous version of the program) - allows to avoid these limitations.
