Gen. Polko Convinces to Send Polish Troops to Ukraine. "Nobody Will Take Us Seriously"
The idea of sending European troops to Ukraine was put forward a year ago by French President Emmanuel Macron. In March 2022, the idea of sending NATO forces to Ukraine to protect Ukrainian cities from bombing was put forward by then-Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński during a visit to Kyiv.
The idea has begun to be reconsidered in connection with the possibility of the withdrawal of American aid for Ukraine by the Donald Trump administration. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Poland "does not plan to send troops to Ukraine". - We will support, also in terms of logistics and political support, countries that possibly want to provide such guarantees in the future - announced the head of government.
