The Arab "Sleeping Prince" Al-Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal Al Sauda has died"O peaceful soul, return to your Lord, content and pleasing to Him. Enter the company of My [righteous] servants and enter My Paradise. With hearts that believe in the will and decree of God, and with deep sadness and regret, we mourn our beloved son, Prince Al-Waleed Bin Khalid Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, who died today," he wrote on the X website.
Prince Al-Waleed, known as the "Sleeping Prince," has died after 20 years in a coma. The young man was studying at a military academy in London in 2005 when he was involved in a horrific car accident from which he never regained consciousness.
The Saudi royal family did everything in their power to help the young man. Doctors from the United States and Spain were flown to the hospital in Riyadh, hoping to find a way to improve the prince's health. Unfortunately, they were.
