Holiday timetable – trains to Świnoujście are back. Night Super Sprinter and connections to Karpacz!

Holiday timetable – trains to Świnoujście are back. Night Super Sprinter and connections to Karpacz!

The long-awaited inauguration of the connection from Jelenia Góra to Karpacz and the return of the summer hit, the direct connection Wrocław – Świnoujście. After 25 years, trains will also reach Karpacz, and the first Super Sprinter will start running in Lower Silesia! Here are the most important changes regarding the new timetable, which will come into effect on Sunday, June 15.

Another revitalized railway line – from Jelenia Góra to Karpacz via Mysłakowice – is the most important change in the timetable, valid from mid-June 2025.

- Karpacz is back on the rail map of Poland! This is another investment by the Lower Silesian local government, thanks to which we are restoring rail connections to the residents of our region. In recent years, rail connections have returned to towns inhabited by over 200,000 Lower Silesians. We are focusing on modern rail - we have further investments ahead of us, thanks to which the trains of Koleje Dolnośląskie will travel to, among others, Lądek-Zdrój, Stronie Śląskie and Srebrna Góra - says Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Karpacz returns to the railway map of Poland

The last passenger train reached Karpacz in 2000. The Karkonosze resort returns to the Polish railway map after 25 years. This is another rail connection with the tourist gems of Lower Silesia restored by the provincial government.

Trzebnica, Bielawa, Chocianów, Świeradów-Zdrój, now Karpacz. In Lower Silesia, we are revitalizing railway lines on a large scale and restoring passenger connections on them. Within a decade, we will ensure that a quarter of a million Lower Silesians will regain access to the railway – says Michał Rado , deputy marshal of the Lower Silesian voivodeship responsible for railways.

Thanks to the connection to Karpacz, towns along the way will also benefit: the line will be serviced by 12 pairs of trains per day. At the same time, the Jelenia Góra station will become a transfer hub leading to the most popular towns in the Karkonosze and Jizera Mountains: from there we can already take a train to Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów-Zdrój, and from June 15, trains to Karpacz will also start.

A real attraction for tourists will be the opportunity to travel on the historic trains of the Railway Enthusiasts Club, offered over four weekend retro courses.

A holiday hit, i.e. KD Premium Nadmorski

Thousands of passengers have been waiting for this connection, who have been travelling to the Baltic Sea with Koleje Dolnośląskie for two years now. Almost 15 thousand passengers have already used the Wrocław Główny – Świnoujście connections.

KD Premium Nadmorski will run on Saturdays to Świnoujście and on Sundays from the seaside to Wrocław Główny, from 21 June to 31 August this year. Additional journeys – in both directions – will start on public holidays, i.e. 19 June and 15 August.

By train you can travel from Wrocław Główny, Legnica, Lubin, Głogów and Zielona Góra Główna to Świnoujście. Ticket prices remain the same, a normal one-way ticket costs PLN 99.

Super Sprinter Wroclaw - Legnica - Lubin

The new timetable will also include a night train on the Wrocław Główny – Legnica – Lubin route. It will run on summer weekends. It will depart from the capital of Lower Silesia at 00:25 and reach Legnica and Lubin in record time – in 33 and 47 minutes, respectively!

Return to Goerlitz, new stop: Kunice

This is not the end of the summer timetable returns. On June 5, rail connections between Zgorzelec and the German city of Goerlitz were restored. Some connections will still be serviced by replacement buses.

Due to the renovation of the railway line across our southern border, this summer we will not travel by train from Szklarska Poręba to Liberec. Until October 30, on this route, on the section Szklarska Poręba - Jablonec nad Nisou, there will be a replacement bus service.

However, if passengers want to reach Polana Jakuszycka or Harrachov – the first station beyond the border of Poland – this section will be carried out by train.

These will be double trains with an additional carriage, thanks to which cyclists will not have any problems with space. So at the Szklarska Poręba Górna station we will be able to choose whether we want to go to Tanvald, Jablonec nad Nisou or Liberec by bus, or to Polana Jakuszycka and Harrachov by train – says Damian Stawikowski , president of Koleje Dolnośląskie.

After the summer holidays, the train connection will be suspended again due to postponements in the renovations carried out on the Czech side. The entire line to Liberec will be reopened in November 2025.

The timetable change also means that many trains change their departure times – by a few or a dozen minutes.

The timetable from 15 June 2025 will also include the Kunice stop on the railway line from Wrocław to Legnica. Passenger trains of Koleje Dolnośląskie will stop there.

The timetable adjustments of all carriers are introduced several times a year. The vast majority of our passengers are prepared for them, but traditionally we ask that, just like before every journey, you check the timetable thoroughly also after June 15 – reminds Bartłomiej Rodak, spokesman for Koleje Dolnośląskie.

The new timetable will be valid from 15 June to 30 August this year. You can find it on the website kolejedolnoslaskie.pl.
