In Koszalin, a man attacked a female doctor in her office.

A 45-year-old attacked a psychiatrist in her private medical office. The doctor was taken to hospital. She has facial injuries and broken fingers on her hand, the press officer of the Koszalin police, Senior Superintendent Monika Kosiec, told PAP on Wednesday.

A Koszalin resident entered the office of a 63-year-old psychiatrist on Tuesday and began hitting her with his hands all over her body, throwing computer equipment at her, a chair. As reported by Senior Inspector Kosiec, he had a knife with him, which he did not use.

“The man allegedly claimed that a female doctor had prescribed him the wrong medication a few years ago,” the policewoman said.

The doctor's cries for help were heard by a patient waiting in the hallway for an appointment. He was the first to call the police. He gave a description of the aggressor. People from cars parked nearby also called the police.

They saw the man run out of the office, hitting a patient who was waiting for an appointment.

"The 45-year-old was detained by a patrol right after the incident. He is a resident of Koszalin. He was sober. Due to his behavior, he was taken to a psychiatric hospital for tests. He is under supervision. We are waiting for the doctors' opinion. We are collecting evidence, which we will pass on to the prosecutor's office," the policewoman said.

Initial findings indicate that the man will be charged with assault on a public official, bodily harm and destruction of property. "We will also check the thread regarding threats on social media, which the 45-year-old allegedly made," added Senior Superintendent Kosiec.

The doctor was taken to hospital. She has facial injuries and broken fingers.
