Major disruptions in the center of Warsaw. Changes for drivers, trams will not run

Major disruptions in the center of Warsaw. Changes for drivers, trams will not run

On Friday evening, June 13, the reconstruction of Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw will begin on the section from Widok Street to Królewska Street. For this reason, trams will not be running. The work will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. with the renovation of the track. Drivers will have two lanes in each direction. From Królewska to Świętokrzyska, there will be fenced lanes along the track on both carriageways. Those driving towards Bankowy Square before Królewska will regain three lanes, from which they will drive as usual.

In the opposite direction, two lanes will lead straight through the intersection. Drivers on the right will turn onto Królewska towards Grzybowski Square. Between Widok and Świętokrzyska, on the roadway towards Bankowy Square, the two left lanes will be closed, by the tracks. Two lanes will be designated on the wide, right lane, and on the lane towards Jerozolimskie Avenue, works will take up the right and left lanes. Drivers from both directions at the intersection with Świętokrzyska will have two lanes to go straight.

New traffic organization

It will also be possible to turn right onto Świętokrzyska. On Świętokrzyska from the ONZ roundabout, before the intersection with Marszałkowska, the right lane will be fenced off. From the adjacent two, drivers will go left and straight or right. It will also be narrower on Marszałkowska between Wspólna and Nowogrodzka. On the roadway towards Al. Jerozolimskie, the leftmost lane will be closed. At the Dmowskiego roundabout, drivers will go two lanes to the left, onto Al. Jerozolimskie towards Dw. Centralny.

One lane will be for straight ahead, and the other for straight ahead or right. From the Marszałkowska lane towards Konstytucji Square, you will not be able to turn onto Żurawia. The changes will also apply to tram passengers, which will not run between Bankowy Square and Zbawiciela Square and between Kino Femina and Targowa Street on the weekend of 14-15 June. Lines no. 4, 15, 16, 23 and 76 will be suspended. 13 will run between the loop on Kawęczyńska and Czynszowa for two days.

Warsaw. Trams will run differently this weekend

Trams on line 14 will run more frequently, replacing the suspended 16. 18 will go from Mokotów to Narutowicza Square. 71 will reach Wyścigi instead of the suspended 4. An additional "Praga" line 68 will be launched from Żerań FSO to Dworzec Wschodni. On Marszałkowska Street, instead of trams, buses on lines 151 and 520 will run, which will reach Bankowy Square. From 16 June, trams will return to the WZ route. 15 will reach the Ratusz-Arsenał metro station from Marymont. Lines 14 and 25 will be suspended.

The trains of the supplementary line 68 (Żerań FSO – pl. Starynkiewicza) will be on the tracks, replacing line 18 in Żerań and partially 25 in Śródmieście. Buses 151 and 520 will reach Bankowy Square. A switch will be launched on Marszałkowska Street, on the southern side of the Dmowski roundabout. Trams of line 16 from Wilanów will reach it. 4 will run along: Nowowiejska Street, Niepodległości Avenue, Jana Pawła II Avenue and “Solidarności” Avenue towards Praga.
