More people willing than money. Energy storage subsidies have ended

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management reports that 630 people have applied for funding for electricity storage. Unfortunately, there is not enough money for everyone.
Funds for the implementation of the program "Electricity storage facilities and related infrastructure to improve the stability of the Polish power grid" come from the EU Modernization Fund. PLN 4.15 billion is available for distribution, of which PLN 3.735 billion is allocated for grants and PLN 0.415 billion - for loans.
We are pleased with the great interest from entrepreneurs in co-financing the construction of energy storage facilities. Co-financing is also possible for their connection to the grid and accompanying infrastructure, as well as configuration and synchronization. The recruitment enjoyed great interest and, as we expected, a very large number of applications were submitted. Now we have a huge job to do, we will conduct a transparent process of their assessment in accordance with the terms of the program and the recruitment regulations.
- said Magdalena Misiurek, director of the Department of Energy and Industry at the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
There is not enough money for everyone. The project budget has been exceededAccording to the Fund, the total declared value of projects submitted in the call exceeds PLN 70 billion. Applicants are seeking almost PLN 28 billion in funding for energy storage facilities with a total capacity of over 20 GW and 122 GWh. It seems that not everyone will receive support, or it will be less than requested.
The final data regarding submitted applications will be verified after formal and substantive assessment.
In accordance with the decision of the European Commission TCTF, contracts under the programme will be concluded by 31 December 2025.
