Murders of seniors in Warsaw. Investigators do not rule out that there are more victims throughout Poland
The first murder took place on the night of February 15-16 in the Old Town. The body of an 80-year-old woman was found in an apartment at Franciszkańska Street 3. Investigators determined that she had been strangled with a pillow, and paintings and jewelry had been stolen from her apartment. "The perpetrators were actually stealing everything they thought they could quickly and easily sell," describes the details of the crime, prosecutor Piotr Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
Another senior citizen lived alone in a block of flats at ul. Wąwozowa 19. She was also strangled. On 23 February, relatives found a murdered 89-year-old woman in an apartment at ul. Księcia Trojdena 5. On the night of 24-25 February, the murderers struck again. Their victim was a 73-year-old woman from Ursynów.
And as in all cases, jewelry, paintings, old coins, watches and banknotes disappeared from the apartments. "We can say that these were actually small amounts of money," adds prosecutor Skiba.
Murders in Warsaw. Men face various chargesThe police have detained two men, including a 43-year-old Pole. At the time of his detention, he was under the influence of drugs. It turned out that he also had an extensive criminal record. Over the past 20 years, he has been punished 11 times. He was also wanted on an arrest warrant. He is currently suspected of five crimes, including committing "aggravated murder in connection with committing a robbery". According to investigators, he is responsible for the deaths of three women.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old Ukrainian has been charged with handling stolen items that were taken from an apartment on Franciszkańska Street and murdering a senior citizen living on Księcia Trojdena Street in Ochota.
They helped to remove minor faultsThe investigators also revealed that all the victims knew the attackers because they visited their homes, where they did minor repairs. One of them ran a plumbing company registered in Poland, and the other supported himself with odd jobs. "It is therefore possible that there are more male victims, and all over Poland. We are not ruling out any circumstances," the investigators emphasize.
The question also remains whether the men are also responsible for the death of the fourth senior citizen. "Everything depends on the results of the autopsy. It will turn out whether we were dealing with a natural death or the action of third parties," the prosecutor emphasizes.
