Nightmare behind closed doors. Woman refused renovation, was brutally beaten
Bielsk Podlaski police received a report of a man causing a riot in a flat in the city. Upon arrival, they found a terrified woman being helped by an ambulance crew. It turned out that the 53-year-old had returned home drunk late in the evening and told his wife that he was going to do some renovations.
When the man started to take furniture out of the room, his wife tried to stop him, explaining that it was too late to renovate. In response, the 53-year-old started to throw a tantrum, throwing flowerpots off the windowsills and calling his partner names. He then began pulling his wife's hair and hitting her on the head, back and chest with a broomstick.
The woman managed to call for help, and the beaten woman was taken to hospital. The husband was arrested and taken to the police station. A sobriety test showed that he had 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. He was charged with causing bodily harm to a woman for a period exceeding 7 days, which is punishable by up to 5 years in prison. In addition, the 53-year-old will have to leave his place of residence and will be banned from approaching his wife.
