PGNiG Termika Energetyka lowers heat tariffs

Let us just recall that the final price that a resident of Przemyśl has to pay for the supplied heat consists of two fees. For the heat produced and for the heat supplied. The former is handled by the aforementioned PGNiG Termika Energetyka Przemyśl sp. z o. o., while the latter is handled by the municipal company, i.e. Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej.
The first company conducts business activity consisting in generating heat in the Zasanie Heating Plant, equipped with 4 coal-fired water boilers, located in Przemyśl at ul. Emilii Plater 8. The total installed capacity of the heat source is 74.6 MW. The concession for this activity was granted on July 30, 2021 for the period from September 1, 2021 to December 31, 2040. The sole recipient of the heat generated in the Zasanie Heating Plant is Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej w Przemyślu sp. z o. o.

The price of a gigajoule is PLN 86.45, while the price of the heat carrier (in this case water) is PLN 36.26 per cubic meter.
We asked Andrzej Kolat, CEO of PGNiG Termika Energetyka Przemyśl sp. z o. o., what these amounts mean and how to interpret them (the company's new management board has been in operation since November last year and, in addition to A. Kolat, it includes Roman Kaczmarczyk and Wojciech Makarski – author's note)...
