Rape at Junior Tennis Championships? Who Was Responsible for the Children's Safety?

Rape at Junior Tennis Championships? Who Was Responsible for the Children's Safety?

The Polish Tennis Association informs that during the Polish Tennis Championships for girls and boys under 16, held as part of the National Youth Olympics on June 30 - July 6, 2025, on the AZS courts in Poznań, an incident of a potentially criminal nature involving underage participants was reported - the Polish Tennis Association briefly reports the matter in a statement posted on its website on July 7.

It does not disclose what the "criminal act" is, assures that the matter is being investigated, and appeals for "particular caution in disseminating information on this subject, with particular emphasis on sensitive information." Two days later, the Association's Disciplinary Committee temporarily revoked the license of the player "suspected of committing a criminal act, until the final conclusion of the criminal proceedings in this case." It stipulates that the actions "are preventive in nature and do not prejudge the player's guilt within the meaning of criminal or disciplinary law." Determining any guilt rests with "law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor's office."
