The group allegedly acted on behalf of foreign intelligence agencies, carrying out sabotage activities in Poland. This information was included in a press release published on the X portal.
Arson attacks in Gdańsk and Marki near WarsawAccording to the findings, the accused were responsible for, among other things, setting fire to a warehouse in Gdańsk and a pallet storage facility in Marki. According to the prosecutor's office, their activities also included other criminal acts, such as organizing and carrying out sabotage acts in Poland, arms trafficking, and drug dealing.
Investigators emphasize that the evidence gathered indicates the suspects' ties to foreign intelligence agencies, and that the sabotage was aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country. This case is one of the most serious acts of sabotage in Poland in recent years.
As we read in the press release, the accused included three Polish citizens (Kamil K., Dawid P., Łukasz K.) and three Belarusian citizens (Stepan K., Andrei B., Jaraslau S.).
The perpetrators face from 10 years to life imprisonment. The indictment covers three incidents: an arson attack and fire at a restaurant in Gdynia, which occurred between April and June 22, 2023; an attempted arson attack at a warehouse in Gdańsk in March 2024; and an arson attack at a pallet storage facility in Marki on the night of April 8-9, 2024. According to investigators, these acts were ordered by foreign intelligence. All arson attacks were carried out by throwing so-called Molotov cocktails—bottles filled with flammable liquid and set on fire before being thrown—at buildings or other objects.
The proceedings were initiated in February 2024, after the Internal Security Agency provided information about possible sabotage and subversion activities carried out in Wrocław by a Ukrainian citizen.
"The evidence obtained in the case indicated a suspicion that an organized criminal group operating in Poland engaged in recruitment and organizing sabotage activities for foreign intelligence agencies. The actions of the foreign services were aimed at generating social unrest and creating a sense of helplessness among state authorities through sabotage and subversion," the prosecutor's office reported.
According to investigators, the arson attacks on the Gdańsk warehouse and the pallet storage facility in Marki constitute acts of sabotage, commissioned by foreign intelligence. They are classified under Article 130 § 7 of the Penal Code, which means the perpetrators face prison terms ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment.
