Spiders are on the rise in Polish homes. Expert explains the reasons.

Both on the Internet and in everyday conversations, Polish residents are increasingly complaining about the increased presence of spiders in their apartments and houses.
What is the cause? It was identified by an expert entomologist.
Let's sympathize with people suffering from arachnophobiaAccording to scientists, as many as three to 20 percent of the population suffers from arachnophobia, a profound fear of spiders. However, it's not just the emotional reaction—even a highly intense one—that occurs at the sight of eight legs (sometimes hairy) scurrying across the floorboards. Fear of spiders may also be relevant in countries where they pose a deadly threat to humans. If someone is able to remain in a room with a spider despite their fear, they likely don't suffer from arachnophobia at all—they are usually terrified of staying in such a room, let alone searching for it, with the intention of killing it or carrying it out of the house on a piece of paper or in a jar.
People with arachnophobia (which can affect anyone, regardless of gender) experience increased blood pressure and pulse at the sight of a spider, not to mention possible loss of consciousness. It's no wonder, then, that such people are increasingly complaining about the presence of spiders in their homes, which has become more severe.
Dr. Knutelski pointed out the "most important reason"In Poland, there are no spiders that could cause death to the human body (unless we are dealing with a person allergic to a chemical substance found in the venom of a given species).
Spiders can be a nuisance without any real hassle – especially for people with arachnophobia. Why are they appearing in our homes more and more often? Dr. Stanisław Knutelski pointed out possible reasons. "Buildings used by humans have an exceptionally wide variety of habitats. The living room has different conditions than the kitchen, garage, basement, or attic. Even different ones exist on a balcony or gazebo. And in each of them, a predator like a spider can find the perfect hiding place to hide and wait for prey. And because indoor conditions are stable, it's even easier for them to stay with us. But the most important reason a spider lives in a given location is the availability of food," he explained in an interview with Onet.
