The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin has discontinued its investigation into Civic Coalition senator Tomasz Grodzki, whom it previously suspected of being involved in a bribery scheme. Meanwhile, the trial of doctors accused of accepting financial benefits from the hospital in Zdunowo, which the politician and renowned surgeon directed for 18 years, is still ongoing in a Szczecin court.

The prosecutor's office explained its decision as follows: "The proceedings in question were discontinued due to the finding that the acts did not contain the elements of a prohibited act under Article 17 § 1 item 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure." The injured parties have the right to appeal.

"I'm glad that justice has prevailed," says Professor Tomasz Grodzki. "From the very beginning, this was a plot by Law and Justice, which wanted to strip me of my position as Marshal. It's truly unpleasant to be slandered, even though your conscience is clear. But this is the method Law and Justice chose. The method of harming innocent people. Not just me. It's good that it ended on October 15, 2023. I want to add that I won the defamation case against Tomasz Duklanowski, which was not legally binding."

Tomasz Duklanowski wrote in "Gazeta Polska" about the corruption in which Tomasz Grodzki is allegedly involved. According to the journalist, the crime involved patients donating money to the Transplantology Assistance Foundation to expedite their surgeries.

He commented on the cancellation on social media as follows:

A lawless country! Hundreds of witnesses claim that there was massive corruption at the hospital Grodzki headed. Dozens of witnesses incriminating Grodzki himself. And Bodnar's prosecutor's office is discontinuing the investigation. Scandal, impudence, and contempt for truth and justice by Bodnar and his henchmen! ©℗
