The main Corpus Christi procession passed through Szczecin

Thousands of believers took part in the main Corpus Christi procession in Szczecin on Thursday. This year's celebrations were led by Archbishop Wiesław Śmigiel, the Metropolitan of Szczecin and Kamień. The procession began at 10:00 in front of the Church of John the Baptist on Bogurodzicy Street.
The route led through St. Wojciech Street, Port Gate, then Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Street, up to the Archcathedral Basilica of St. James the Apostle. Four altars were set up along the way, where the faithful stopped to pray and listen to fragments of the Gospel. Each of the altars was prepared by a different parish and carried a separate spiritual message.
The procession was attended by clergy, nuns, first communion children, altar boys and numerous parish groups. There were also traditional elements: girls throwing flowers, feretrons, banners and singing of Eucharistic hymns.
At the end of the ceremony, at the Szczecin cathedral, Archbishop Śmigiel gave the blessing of the Blessed Sacrament and thanked everyone for the common witness of faith. - It is not only a religious tradition, but a deep spiritual experience that reminds us of God's presence in our daily lives - said the metropolitan.
The whole event took place peacefully and with a large participation of residents. The safety of the participants was ensured by the security services and the police. Despite the changeable weather, the procession gathered large crowds of the faithful, for whom it was an opportunity for prayer, reflection and public confession of faith.
A total of 35 diocesan processions take place throughout the city on Corpus Christi, some of which coincide in time with the main procession.
