Will the pier float away and who will risk launching a boat? The San River boulevards are again the subject of councilors' discussion

Will the pier float away and who will risk launching a boat? The San River boulevards are again the subject of councilors' discussion

Thanks to the development of the areas on the right bank of the San, the residents of Jarosław gained a multifunctional space for outdoor activities and relaxation. From the beginning, it was assumed that this place was to become a recreational center with attractions addressed to different age groups. And this goal was achieved. The investment included the creation of: pedestrian and pedestrian-bicycle paths, sports and recreational facilities, a sandy beach, places for games, a descent to the water, parking lots, a floating pier, outdoor stands with a place for a stage, places for grilling and lighting a bonfire... The whole thing has certainly enriched the urban space, but the local government, like its users, is still analyzing what is still missing or what could be improved to better meet the needs of Jarosław residents.

The topic of the boulevards on the San River also came up at the May session of the city council. Among other things, questions were asked about the issue of maintaining greenery and mowing the aforementioned areas. As explained by PGKiM president Andrzej Makar, the company he represented received the order for mowing services from MOSiR Jarosław in the pre-May period. As the councilor added, residents also drew his attention to this fact, expressing concerns that if there was no action, the pier could suffer. "Isn't this a mistake in art?" asked M. Dymnicki. At the same time, he also asked about proposals for a sensible solution to the problem, so that the investment could function without any problems for years to come. In response, it was explained that it was designed in consultation with Polish Waters under the previous authorities and the entire project was carried out in accordance with the design documentation.

– All we can do is pray that there will be no high water and that it will not flow away from us – concluded the director of the Department of Municipal Funds and Investments, Rafał Młynarski.

What signals are we receiving from residents?

Mayor Marcin Nazarewicz also joined the discussion about the boulevards, informing that the city hall has been receiving signals from residents not only about the pier, but also the infrastructure there.

- There are suggestions from residents that there are not enough swings for small children. We will have to look into this soon and if there is such a possibility, they will be placed in that area. Perhaps a piece of space is also needed for people who come to the boulevards with their four-legged friends. There is definitely a lack of greenery. There was also a reported problem related to...
