Gas heating can be a pain. The decision will be very expensive

- The issue of continued use of gas for home heating is troubling not only Poles but also our neighbors. The German government plans to amend the Energy in Buildings Act.
- - Under no circumstances should you reinstall a gas heating system, because it will be very expensive if the price of CO2 emission rights continues to rise - said Minister of Construction Verena Hubertz in an interview for "Bild", as reported by Money.pl.
- Minister Verena Hubertz advised anyone who wants to or needs to replace their heating system soon to ask their local authorities or municipal utility company how the planning for district heating is going and whether they already know where the heating pipe should run.
The Energy in Buildings Act (GEG) was developed and adopted in Germany in 2020, by Angela Merkel's government. It was supposed to accelerate the transformation of heating in Germany. Under Chancellor Friedrich Merz from the CDU, it is to undergo further reform - reports Money.pl after the Merkur.de service.
The changes will be the responsibility of the Minister of Economics and Energy Katherina Reiche (CDU) and the Minister of Construction Verena Hubertz (SPD). They are to find a way to change the law without jeopardizing climate goals , and their motto is "demand and promote".
Don't make a hasty decision to install gas heatingIn an interview with "Bild", Verena Hubertz suggested that this would be a "new, better" law. She did not provide any specifics yet, but she did stipulate that the gas heating system should not be reinstalled .

- said Minister Verena Hubertz, quoted by Merkur.de.
Those replacing their heating system should consider renting or leasing a temporary system. As reported by Money.pl, Minister Hubertz advised that anyone who wants or needs to replace their heating system soon should ask their local authorities or municipal utility company how the planning of the city heating system is going and whether they already know where the heating pipe should run.
If not, there is currently a market for temporary heating systems. You can rent or lease them for a year or two. Or you can invest in something that will meet the requirements in the long term: after all, you have to achieve 65 percent climate neutrality
- Hubertz added.
