Here, LNG from Italy won against Polish and German gas

The company will continue to look for options to supply liquefied natural gas via Italy, SPP said, given constraints on other routes.
The Slovaks signed a memorandum with Snam in 2023. It is to enable Bratislava to receive gas, and the Italians could also provide storage for part of the gas purchased by Slovakia.
There are still significant technical limitations on alternative gas transport routes to Slovakia, which we actively use, i.e. from Germany via Austria and the Czech Republic. They have not been eliminated yet and do not allow for sufficient gas supplies to several Central European countries at the same time, commented SPP CEO Vojtech Ferenc.
Interestingly, Ferenc did not address the possibility of importing LNG through the terminals in Świnoujście and Klaipėda . While the former is largely occupied, in the case of the latter there is a possibility of importing certain batches of gas.
The gas could be transported via the Polish-Lithuanian GIPL gas pipeline, then through our country and to Slovakia via the Polish-Slovak interconnector, which is actually not working.
The Slovaks themselves are not satisfied with the current situation.
Any alternative gas supply route to Slovakia is still significantly more expensive than transport via Ukraine due to transit fees, Ferenc said.
Our southern neighbor consumes over 4 billion m3 of gas annually. Due to the lack of resources, it is forced to import all of it.
