The 16th edition of the SEG Listed Companies RI Congress starts in two weeks

On 3-4 June this year, the 16th edition of the SEG Investor Relations Congress will be held at the Hotel Warszawianka in Jachranka. This is another regularly scheduled event, organized as part of the SEG educational mission, during which it will be possible to exchange experiences regarding the work of IR directors of listed companies and gain knowledge helpful in building relations with investors and media in the company.
The first day of the Congress will be filled with three discussion blocks on regulations, IR tools and relations with various audiences. They will be divided into several smaller expert talks. During the first one, entitled "New regulation on information obligations", the schedule of works, the most important changes and the possibilities of influencing the content of the regulation will be discussed.
The second discussion will focus on changes to MAR. Participants will learn about reporting in the event of a process that is extended over time and delaying the publication of confidential information.
The next debate will be devoted to prospectus-free issues. This part will discuss what the path of issue is without the need to prepare and accept a prospectus, the scope of information necessary for investors and the advantages and disadvantages of prospectus-free issues.
The next panel discussion will be devoted to the Omnibus package, in particular: the most important changes, consequences for 1000+ companies and consequences for companies exempt from reporting.
After a short break, a panel will begin on communication in the context of building liquidity, or how to attract investors and analysts. This discussion will focus on building trust and maintaining constant interest in the company, educating stakeholders and transparency in communication, as well as practical and underrated tools.
The next issue that experts will look at is increasing the liquidity of a company. Topics that will be discussed include: the impact of liquidity on the valuation of a company; the availability of analyses and the decisions of individual investors; the Analytical Coverage Support 5.0 program.
Then, the topic of communication with issuers for the purposes of services provided by KDPW will be discussed. Experts will talk about the exchange of information between issuers and KDPW, services provided to issuers, handling corporate events (GM, issuer obligations) and shareholder identification.
- Issuers are one of the key groups of the National Depository's clients. If you look at the numbers, there are almost 3 thousand entities in the KDPW in the issuer category. Over the last dozen or so years, this number has more than tripled. KDPW provides listed companies not only with the registration of securities, but also with efficient handling of corporate events and operations on securities, such as dividend payments, bond redemptions, or share splits or mergers. The National Depository's services for issuers also include preparing and providing a list of persons entitled to participate in the general meeting, identifying shareholders, or assigning LEI codes. The scope of services offered to issuers by KDPW has changed over the years and continues to evolve. This is related to both changing regulations - domestic and European - and the level of development of the capital market in Poland - says Maciej Trybuchowski, President of KDPW and KDPW_CCP.
The next session will cover investor relations in developed markets, starting with equity investors (managing expectations and consensus, credibility, clear communication, investment case, dividends vs. share buybacks), through other stakeholders (fixed income investors, rating agencies, sell-side analysts, proxy advisors), ending with the determinants of the share price around the results presentation day.
After another break, the last panel discussion on relations with different audiences will begin. Experts will present and address groups such as: individual investors, institutional investors, responsible investors, and the media.
The program of the second day of the Congress includes practical workshops on issues such as:
- Practical and underrated communication support tools
- Difficult confidential information
- Free analysis of listed companies
- New rules for conducting public offerings
The two-day meeting will conclude with a panel discussion entitled “Changes in the regulatory and market environment”, during which the following will be discussed: the scope and timeline of deregulation activities, upcoming regulations, and the most important factors influencing the market.
- In recent months, we have been dealing with a deregulation offensive - both at the national and EU level. After 9 years of tightening the screws, regulators have finally been convinced that this is not the way to go. That the capital market needs risk, because without it there can be no profit. As SEG, we are of course actively participating in these activities, we have even initiated some of them, and therefore we feel competent to discuss these topics. Therefore, during the 16th Investor Relations Congress, we will deal with issues such as the possibility of issuing shares without the need to prepare and accept an issue prospectus, facilitations in the identification and publication of confidential information, and work on slimming down the regulation on information obligations - says Dr. Mirosław Kachniewski, President of the Management Board, Association of Stock Exchange Issuers.

The Congress is organized by the Association of Stock Exchange Issuers. The event partners are: the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the National Depository for Securities as Institutional Partners, Tailors Group as Partner, Unicomp-WZA as Technology Partner.
