Unemployment increased slightly in July

At the end of July 2025 , the registered unemployment rate in the country, as estimated by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, was 5.4 percent. This is 0.2 percentage points more than in the previous month and 0.4 percentage points more compared to July 2024.
The registered unemployment rate at the end of July 2025 ranged from 3.3% in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship to 8.8% in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship , according to the ministry's information.
Preliminary data indicate that at the end of July this year, 830.6 thousand unemployed people were registered with labor offices . This is 33.7 thousand more than a month earlier and 65.3 thousand more than a year ago, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy reported.
EU data, in turn, indicate that we remain among the countries with the lowest unemployment.
According to the definition adopted by Eurostat, the unemployment rate in Poland was 3.5% in June 2025. This is 0.2 percentage points more than a month earlier and 0.6 percentage points more than in June 2024, the Ministry of Family and Labour reminds.
The lowest unemployment rate in the European Union was recorded in Malta (2.5%), followed by the Czech Republic (3%). Poland came in third. The highest unemployment rate in June of this year was in Spain (10.4%). At that time, the EU average was 5.9%, and in the eurozone – 6.2%.
