500 Scientific Papers and There's No Doubt Anymore. Surprising Information About the Human Heart

Taking care of your heart supports your entire body, as a study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association clearly demonstrates. Its authors analyzed nearly 500 high-quality studies, which showed that heart-healthy habits bring countless benefits to the entire body . These include improved brain, lung, vision, hearing, muscles, and teeth.
Stress and cortisol levels decrease, and the risk of serious diseases, including chronic ones, decreases - e.g. cancer, pneumonia, Alzheimer's disease, fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, depression, kidney disease.
However, the subjectively perceived quality of life increases and the risk of pregnancy complications, sleep breathing disorders, metabolic syndrome, erectile dysfunction, mobility problems, disability and death decreases.
As a result, spending on medical care and other costs related to poor health is also decreasing.
As the researchers explain, this review is the first of its kind to systematically analyze how the American Heart Association's seven basic principles of healthy living (the so-called Simple 7 system, which includes not smoking, eating healthily, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and controlling blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar) affect the health of various organ systems in the body.
This system is similar to Life's Essential 8 principles, which also include adequate sleep.
"While we recently learned that heart health and brain health are closely linked, in this review we discovered that nearly every system and function of the body—from head to toe—benefits from a heart-healthy lifestyle," said lead researcher Dr. Liliana Aguayo of Emory University.
