Another GIS recall: A beloved product disappears from a popular discount store

GIS reported that one of the most popular discount stores had withdrawn early potatoes. The reason was the detection of pesticides.
The Chief Sanitary Inspector has received information that Lidl Polska Sp. z oo Sp. k. is conducting a recall of the "Early loose potatoes" product batch, after receiving the test results, as part of the owner's inspection for the presence of pesticides. The recall applies to selected chain stores in the following provinces:
- Masovian,
- Warmia-Masuria,
- Podlasie,
- Lublin,
- Lesser Poland,
- Silesian,
- Subcarpathian.

After receiving the test results, which showed that the legal limit for plant protection product residues had been exceeded, Lidl Sp. z oo Sp. k., together with PPUH Awex sp. z oo, decided to initiate the procedure of withdrawing the product batch in question from the market – GIS reports.
Information for customers in this case was posted on 30.05.2025 in the afternoon in Lidl chain stores covered by the recall and on the lidl.pl website in the "Important information for customers" panel. Customers can return the item in any store without having to present a receipt.
In turn, the State Sanitary Inspection authorities are conducting explanatory inspections at the supplier and manufacturer. GIS warns consumers not to eat potatoes purchased in selected Lidl stores between 26 and 30.05.2025.
