Jakub Dzik, Impel: immigrants should be employed on the same terms as Poles

- - It will be difficult for Poland to compete with other countries in terms of wages in the fight for economic immigrants , but we can win this competition by offering predictable employment conditions - says Jakub Dzik from the Impel Group in an interview with PulsHR
- It also points to the need for a clear law and uniform contribution rates for all contracts on the labour market.
- - In addition to the employment contract, there are also civil law contracts - a contract for services and a contract for specific work, as well as sole proprietorships. There are also different options for paying contributions - he enumerates
- As he notes, when deciding on public procurement procedures, the state is guided almost exclusively by one criterion – the lowest price.
- When it comes to workers from abroad, I believe that they should have the right to employment on exactly the same terms and in the same forms as Polish workers - says Jakub Dzik.
- I recently heard an interesting opinion: it will be difficult for Poland to compete with other countries in terms of wages in the fight for economic immigrants, but we can win this competition by offering predictable employment conditions, treating immigrants with respect, and creating a simple and transparent path for legalizing their employment and - in the long run - obtaining the right of residence or citizenship and building a life in Poland - he emphasizes.
For years, Impel has been speaking out about a clear law and uniform contributions for all contracts on the labor market. Why should we introduce a single method of hiring employees in Poland?
- Equalising the rules on the labour market would bring many benefits to the entire economy. Please look at the mechanism we are dealing with today. In addition to the employment contract, there are also civil law contracts - contracts for services and contracts for specific work, as well as sole proprietorships. There are also different options for paying contributions: from the first contract or from the next one. All these forms of employment are permitted by the applicable regulations - enumerates the representative of the |mpel Group.
Tenders and "almost exclusively" one criterion: prices- At the same time, however, the state actively tracks down employers and penalizes them for using solutions that are formally legal - says Jakub Dzik.
As he notes, when deciding on public procurement procedures, the state is guided almost exclusively by one criterion - the lowest price.
- In order to stay on the market and submit competitive offers, entrepreneurs must use various possibilities provided for in the regulations. Otherwise, they lose the chance to participate in public procurement. On the one hand, the state has created a mechanism that encourages, and sometimes even forces, active management of labor costs. On the other hand, it has provided a number of instruments that allow for employment in forms other than an employment contract - he adds.*
