Will there be pay rises for medics? Talks start on June 10

Talks on the future of healthcare salaries and their annual indexation are set to begin on June 10. Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna announced possible changes to the law on minimum wages for medics in an interview for Polsat News on June 5.

– I will talk to the tripartite team so that we can change the regulation that was invented by someone who has no idea about public finances at all – said the head of the ministry.

Currently, the increases are effective from July 1 of each year. The planned change would mean postponing this date, which in practice could result in a six-month freeze on the growth of the lowest salaries in the health care system.
