Over 3,500 new students will begin their studies at the Medical University of Warsaw

Nearly 3,500 candidates joined the Medical University of Warsaw's student body in this year's recruitment process, with over 500 of them pursuing medicine. The Medical University of Warsaw's faculty is among the best-qualified in the country, and the university itself is also highly ranked in international forums.
Due to the regulation of the Minister of Health of August 7th, the Medical University of Warsaw offers 550 places for full-time studies in medicine in the native language. The Medical University of Silesia and the Medical University of Lodz will also accept over 500 candidates for this program. Of the over 6,500 new medical students, nearly one in ten will be students at the Warsaw university.
Nearly two-thirds of those accepted for the medical program at the Medical University of Warsaw were women (349 out of 550). The number of students accepted for part-time studies in Polish will be 445, including 170 in the medical field and 30 in the dental field. Additionally, 150 candidates will be accepted for the paid medical field in English and 25 for the paid dental field in English. The total number of students accepted for the 2025/2026 academic year will be 3,632. In most fields, the demographically predominant gender was female; only in the paramedic field was the number of women and men accepted roughly equal. Recruitment continues until the end of September, which means that the specific point thresholds for the university's fields may be subject to further fluctuations.
This year's Center for World University Rankings results placed the Medical University of Warsaw in 9th place in the country in the general category and 2nd place in the category for medical universities .
Globally, the university ranked 916th with a score of 71.1 points. Twenty-one thousand universities participated in the rankings, of which 2,000 made it into the final ranking. Of these, 40 were Polish universities or research institutions. The only Polish medical university with a ranking higher than the Medical University of Warsaw was the Medical University of Wrocław (71.3 points). Studying at the university is therefore a guarantee of the highest quality of education.
