PLN 80 million from the KPO for the Sosnowiec hospital. The funds will be allocated, among other things, to the modernization of the wards

As we read in the press release, thanks to funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan , the Central Operational Route of the Sosnowiec hospital will be completely changed.
- We are talking about nearly PLN 80 million , which will be allocated, among other things, to the modernization of operating rooms and modern medical equipment. All with oncology patients in mind who require the help of our general, maxillofacial, orthopedic and urological surgeons - emphasized Krzysztof Kowalik , director of the Provincial Specialist Hospital of St. Barbara in Sosnowiec, quoted in the press release.
This is not the end. - The next step will be to equip specialist clinics providing support to oncological patients, as well as to create a unique place for people treated in the Clinical Oncology Department: a comfort and respite zone - added the head of the facility.
- The agreement between the facility and the State Treasury represented by the Minister of Health has just been signed. The investment is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2026. The last investment at St. Barbara's Hospital of a similar scale was the comprehensive modernization of the operating theater of the Clinical Department of Neurosurgery for over PLN 60 million obtained as support from the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship - reminded Prof. Dr. Hab. n. med. Piotr Ładziński.
He adds that "the introduction of many modern possibilities, including intraoperative imaging, which enables precise verification of the course of surgery in real time, places the Sosnowiec hospital among the most advanced neurosurgical centers in the world."
It was reported that annually over 250 thousand patients receive specialist medical assistance at the Provincial Specialist Hospital of St. Barbara in Sosnowiec within the wards, clinics, as well as daily rehabilitation and dialysis stations.
The aim of investments financed under the National Oncology Network in healthcare is currently to improve access to and quality of oncological care through the development and modernisation of the infrastructure of hospitals belonging to the National Oncology Network and cooperative centres operating within their structure.
