Emergency Department after modernization for PLN 9.2 million. The hospital in Bielsko-Biała has completed a year-long renovation – patients will receive faster and safer assistance.
- The aim of the project was to improve the quality of medical services, increase throughput in the hospital emergency department and shorten the diagnostic and treatment path for patients in life-threatening conditions - the spokeswoman said.
The modernization cost PLN 9.2 million. The hospital obtained money for it last year from a subfund separated from the Medical Fund of the Ministry of Health.
- The facility allocated PLN 7 million from the ministerial subsidy to replace worn-out medical equipment. Among other things, a new computed tomography scanner and X-ray were purchased for the Emergency Department - said Szafrańska.
Over PLN 2 million was allocated for construction works. - Doors, floors and suspended ceilings in the corridor were replaced. Part of the sanitary facilities were rebuilt. A new lift was installed, which will facilitate the transport of patients, especially those with limited mobility, and staff, which will speed up the process of providing assistance and improve the overall efficiency of the department - added the hospital representative.
The video monitoring system and the area for medical transport vehicles have also been modernized.
The Bielsko Voivodeship Hospital is one of the largest and most modern facilities in southern Poland. It has, among other things, 17 departments and 19 specialist clinics.
