Night of Museums 2025 - we have selected the most interesting attractions in Poland

Museum Night is one of the most important annual cultural events in Poland and throughout Europe. On the third weekend of May, cultural institutions open their doors until late at night, offering not only free sightseeing, but also specially prepared programs - workshops, shows, concerts, meetings with artists and events available only on this one night. Here is our subjective guide - what is worth seeing on May 17, 2025.

1. Glass in the main role – Night of Museums 2025 at the Krakow Glassworks

On this year's Night of Museums , the Krakow Glassworks invites you to a unique encounter with glass. From 7:00 p.m. you will be able to participate in the opening of the exhibition "Everything fits and nothing fits", presenting the works of four artists: Kalina Bańka-Kulka, Antonina Joszczuk-Brzozowska, Joanna Opalska-Brzecka and Weronika Surma. This will be followed by thematic guided tours of the permanent exhibition " Glass in Krakow. Industry and art. 1931–1998 ".

A real treat will be the nightly demonstrations of hand-forming glass in the furnace – three sessions that will allow you to take a closer look at this fascinating technique. For the youngest, there are worksheets with tasks and puzzles. Entry costs a symbolic PLN 5, and children under 7 enter for free.

2. Chocolate adventure with history – E.Wedel Chocolate Factory in Warsaw

This year, for the first time as part of the Night of Museums, the E.Wedel Chocolate Factory will open its doors to visitors.

On May 17, 2025, visitors will be able to learn about the chocolate history of one of the most recognizable brands in Poland. A visit will be possible only after booking free tickets, which will be available online from May 16 at 12:00.

This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in stories full of chocolate aromas and learn what sweets were like in the past.

3. History of photography at Krakow's MuFo – workshops and meetings

The Museum of Photography in Krakow (MuFo Józefitów) will have plenty of attractions for children and adults during the Night of Museums 2025. The youngest participants will take part in the workshop " Get Colours, or How Colours Are Made ". Participants will learn where colours in photography come from, what a potato has to do with photography and whether rose-coloured glasses actually change the way we perceive the world. The evening programme includes a visit to the conservation workshop - a great opportunity to learn the secrets of caring for old photographs and negatives. Both events are ticketed, and tickets (PLN 5) can be purchased online or at a ticket machine.

4. With a thrill – visiting the Museum of Forensic Medicine in Wrocław

Stronger impressions are guaranteed by the Museum of Forensic Medicine in Wrocław . Visiting the museum at the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Medical University is available only to adults and takes place in small groups. The exhibition will include murder weapons, bodily injuries and fragments of human tissue preserved in preservative fluids - all in the context of over 150 years of history of forensic examinations.

The guided tour will last 45 minutes and will take place every hour from 6:00 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. on May 17, 2025. Advance registration is required and can be done via the online form.

5. Art, music and history at OPT Zamek in Wrocław

OPT Zamek in Wrocław has prepared an exceptionally rich and diverse program. Starting at noon on May 17, 2025, you will be able to take part in a walk in the footsteps of the film "Salto" , which will be led by Michał Karczmarek - a famous guide and lover of the history of Wrocław. Then there will be workshops on old dances and calligraphy , as well as a dance show , which will take participants to the atmosphere of old eras.

In the evening, we will have a concert by the band Cello Forever , who will perform pieces of film music with a touch of electronics. Additionally, throughout the evening there will be an art gallery, a reading room and a board games corner. All events are free of charge, but many of them require registration or collection of tickets.

6th Night of Museums 2025 at NOSPR Katowice

Technology and music will once again join forces during the Night of Museums at the headquarters of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice .

On May 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:50 p.m., visitors will be able to take a peek into spaces that are not normally accessible. A walk behind the scenes of the NOSPR is not only an opportunity to see how one of the most modern concert buildings in Europe functions, but also to experience musical surprises. The program includes an organ presentation at 7:30 p.m. and two evening concerts – at 8:20 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

7. Glitter and Bowie – CSW ŁAŹNIA Gdańsk

Fancy some fun? The ŁAŹNIA Centre for Contemporary Art in Gdańsk will make sure that this year's Night of Museums is marked by... David Bowie . The event, under the slogan " Bowie . Re:play ", is not only a tribute to the pop culture icon, but also a manifestation of creativity and courage.

Two branches of ŁAŹNIA (Dolne Miasto and Nowy Port) will host exhibitions, workshops, concerts, a fashion show with the participation of LPP, as well as family film screenings.

The centrepiece of the programme is the exhibition "Changes" from the British Council collection , with curatorial guided tours at 6:00, 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. The whole is complemented by a chill-out zone, a musical dance stage and open workshop spaces.

8. Back to the 90s – CK Zamek Poznań

On May 17, 2025, the ZAMEK Cultural Center in Poznań will take us back to the times of Walkmans , VHS tapes and a Britney Spears poster above the bed.

The exhibition " Nightmares Forever. Pop Culture in Poland in the 90s " is a treat for all fans of that decade. Iconic music videos, films, pop culture artifacts and nostalgic memories - all of this will be available for free from 6:00 PM to midnight.

9. Classics and art in micro scale – Night of Museums 2025 in Rzeszów

The District Museum in Rzeszów will open its doors to visitors from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. The program includes both classic exhibitions - Polish and European painting, a gallery of artistic crafts and an exhibition about a Polish soldier - as well as new items. One of the main events of the evening will be the painting workshops "Olga's Flowers - the art of seeing differently", inspired by the work of Olga Boznańska - participants will be able to create their own works on canvas or glass (registration by phone is required, cost: PLN 40). Admission to most exhibitions costs a symbolic PLN 5.
