Checkmate on Małgorzata Manowska's immunity. The State Tribunal has recused 12 judges.
The State Tribunal was supposed to rule on a motion filed by the National Prosecutor's Office to waive the immunity of First President of the Supreme Court, Professor Małgorzata Manowska. However, the defense attorney for the President of the Tribunal, Bartosz Lewandowski, filed a motion to recuse eight of the 18 judges of the Tribunal (the 19th is the President of the Tribunal). Three judges of the Tribunal were selected at random to hear the defense attorney's motion: Piotr Andrzejewski (president), Józef Zych, and Piotr Sak (rapporteur). In a closed session, they deemed the motion justified.
