Today, August 1st, the funeral of Prof. Jerzy Hetman took place – a long-time academic at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, former Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Director of the Institute of Ornamental Plants and Landscape Architecture, and a recognized specialist in the field of ornamental plants. Professor Jerzy Hetman passed away on July 29, 2025.

At precisely 5 p.m., emergency sirens were sounded in Puławy, and traffic at the main intersection was halted by police cars. Residents with red and white flags appeared on Centralna and Lubelska Streets. When the sirens faded and the flares extinguished, fans sang Dąbrowski's Mazurka.
