The reason for the evacuation is the "deteriorating security situation" in the region, where intensive Russian military operations are ongoing. Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Synehubov announced that 409 families, including 601 children, from 27 towns in the Kupiansk region have been ordered to evacuate. Suspilne TV reported that the number of towns affected by the evacuation has been increased to 40.
