The President of the Constitutional Tribunal reacts to Minister Waldemar Żurek's decision. He writes about revenge.
"The decision of the Minister of Justice, Waldemar Żurek, to suspend my wife, Judge Małgorzata Hencel-Święczkowska, from her position as court president and to initiate the dismissal procedure three months before the end of her last term of office is personal in nature and constitutes a form of revenge," writes the President of the Constitutional Tribunal, Bogdan Święczkowski, in a statement.
He emphasizes that this action is completely unlawful in light of the Constitutional Tribunal's judgment of October 16, 2024 (reference number K 2/24) . "No other grounds justify the decision of Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek, who, driven by pettiness, is taking revenge for the Constitutional Tribunal's actions by harming my family," adds the President of the Constitutional Tribunal.
