Travel agency workers deserve big pay rise, German union says
Verdi calls this proposal insufficient, arguing that the actual decline in wages since 2020 has exceeded 20 percent.
Negotiations are underway regarding pay rises for travel agency employeesThe next round of negotiations is scheduled for April 29. It should be emphasized, however, that not all employers in the industry are subject to the common tariff agreement. The second largest German tour operator, Dertour, belonging to the Rewe group, formally complies with it, but has concluded independent agreements with Verdi providing for additional increases. As a result, for example, the starting salary at Dertour's travel agency is around 120 euros higher than it would result from the DRV table.
Europe's largest tour operator, TUI, has a completely separate collective agreement negotiated directly with Verdi, last updated in autumn last year.
