Tusk gave Nawrocki the presidency as a gift? "It's the result of neglect"

- - The staff consisted almost exclusively of ministers and deputy ministers of Tusk's government, so counting on them to attack their boss, for example, was probably quite naive - comments Prof. Renata Mieńkowska-Norkiene.
- - There are already attempts in social media to shift the responsibility, primarily onto Adrian Zandberg, but also - although to a lesser extent - onto Magdalena Biejat or Szymon Hołownia - the expert notes.
- - While it can be assumed that his career in top-level politics has actually come to an end, it should be noted that this state of affairs may last several years - perhaps five, or even ten. However, this does not mean that Rafał Trzaskowski will not return in the future with new ideas - sums up Prof. Mieńkowska-Norkiene.
- Donald Tusk can say about himself that he planned it all badly, he conceived it all badly - says Prof. Renata Mieńkowska-Norkiene, political scientist and sociologist from the University of Warsaw, in an interview with the WNP portal.
In her opinion, Rafał Trzaskowski's defeat in the presidential election was not so much the result of the candidate's weakness, but above all the effect of strategic mistakes made by Donald Tusk's entourage - including himself .
The expert points out that the lack of conviction towards Trzaskowski was already visible at the primary election stage, and the personal composition of the campaign team resulted in a conservative campaign , and internal dependencies paralyzed bolder decisions.
- The staff consisted almost exclusively of ministers and deputy ministers of Tusk's government, so counting on them to attack, for example, their boss was probably quite naive - comments Prof. Mieńkowska-Norkiene.
Young people have been ignored and the internet has been neglectedThe expert strongly emphasizes that one of the greatest negligence on the part of the KO staff was the lack of any attractive offer for young voters - especially young men.
- There was no sensible offer for young people - he says, emphasizing that the government did not use the potential of trust it received in the parliamentary elections. Younger voters tend to vote "against the system".
- There are a few groups in Poland that have the right to feel, at least in the last two years, not fully appreciated, both in terms of dignity and financial matters - he emphasizes.
According to the expert, KO also lost the campaign in the sphere of the Internet. While politicians such as Sławomir Mentzen or Adrian Zandberg gained huge reach, Trzaskowski's team was unable to effectively reach the digital electorate.
- They had no new ideas at all, they did not understand algorithms - notes the professor.
The Civic Coalition has begun looking for those responsibleAccording to the professor, Trzaskowski's defeat may trigger a wave of internal tensions in the ruling camp.
- There are already attempts in social media to shift the responsibility, primarily onto Adrian Zandberg, but also - although to a lesser extent - onto Magdalena Biejat or Szymon Hołownia - the expert comments.
As she notes, this applies to the least extent to Joanna Senyszyn, who did not openly oppose Rafał Trzaskowski either in rhetoric or in debates, which was clearly visible especially at the end of the campaign.
- The narrative suggests that these people were responsible for the lower mobilization and weaker result of the KO candidate - notes the expert and emphasizes that Tusk may also become the target of these settlements.
- This was a risk taken by Donald Tusk, unfortunately it did not pay off, therefore he will probably either change his strategy or will have to accept that his presence on the political scene will have to be modified in some way - emphasizes Prof. Mieńkowska-Norkiene.
Is the election defeat ending Rafał Trzaskowski's career? According to the expert - not necessarily. In her opinion, Trzaskowski is unlikely to return to the front line of national politics in the coming years, but "that doesn't mean never."
- While it can be assumed that his career in top-level politics has actually come to an end, it should be noted that this state may last several years - perhaps five, or even ten. However, this does not mean that Rafał Trzaskowski will not return in the future with new ideas, a different political background and at a time that will be more favorable for him - sums up Prof. Mieńkowska-Norkiene.
