The goals of the Polish mission after the eighth day on the International Space Station (ISS) have been achieved by over 63 percent, the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) reported in a Friday report.
On Friday, as part of the technological and scientific mission IGNIS, for the first time a short-wave ARISS connection was established with the International Space Station and Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski on board - POLSA wrote in a report from the eighth day of the mission.
As added, the connection, which was the main part of the educational event at the University of Wrocław, "took place via telebridge and despite earlier concerns about its maintenance and quality - everything went unexpectedly well (...)".
On Saturday at 10:00 there will be another transmission of a connection with a Polish astronaut as part of the ARISS program at the Rzeszów University of Technology. Link to the transmission on the POLSA channel: https://www.youtube.com/live/i1I8YF1mGJc.
On the eighth day of the mission, the Ax-4 crew continued their work on the AstroMentalHealth, MXene in LEO and EEG Neurofeedback experiments. The AstroMentalHealth experiment examines the impact of space on the astronaut's mental state and well-being. Mxene in LEO tests the performance of heart rate monitors with nanomaterial sensors. EEG Neurofeedback examines how isolation and microgravity affect, among other things, the astronauts' stress levels.
The Axiom mission executive emphasized that the Axiom crew returned to their duties on Friday after a well-deserved day of rest. On Saturday, the astronauts will connect with Dr. Lucie Low from Axiom Space to discuss their experiments and progress.
As reported by POLSA, the current status of implementation of the basic goals of the Polish mission is 63.3 percent. (PAP)
