18-year-old Real Madrid hero! They are closer to the final. But they have a big reason to worry

Since in the first match of the first semi-final of the Copa del Rey FC Barcelona drew 4-4 with Atletico Madrid, the fans expected equally great emotions on Wednesday evening. This time Real Sociedad hosted Real Madrid, and it was necessary to remember that the Royals had won the last two matches at this stadium.

This time, however, the visitors had to deal with an unexpected problem, as the leader of their attack was missing from the matchday squad. It turned out that Kylian Mbappe had recently undergone a tooth extraction procedure, which caused him severe pain . The Frenchman was to be replaced in goal scoring by young Arda Güler and Endrick.

The first to have a good chance was the hosts, and Takefusa Kubo came close to scoring against his former team, but Andriy Lunin intervened well. Real Sociedad surprised their rivals, however, and this did not change in the following minutes, when the Royals had serious problems with the Basques' pressing.

In the end, Real Madrid found a way, thanks to a brilliant move by Jude Bellingham. The Englishman sent a perpendicular pass a few dozen meters, and Endrick took the ball to his body and finished the move with a shot with the outside of his foot.

This, however, did not change the complexion of the game and both teams still had a lot to say - first, Mikel Oyarzabal's shot was confidently saved by Lunin, and after a moment Vinicius Junior responded, but this time Alex Remiro intervened brilliantly.

The emotions did not subside until the end of the first half and it was very hot on the pitch. The same, but in a negative context, could be said about the stands, because after offensive chants the match was interrupted for a moment.

And after the break, not much changed on the pitch. Real Sociedad still managed to put pressure on the favourites, had a few really good shots, but every time Andriy Lunin played brilliantly in goal, growing into a hero for the Royals.

Endrick could have been that too, as he found himself in the opponents' penalty area again in the second half, this time after a great pass from Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian shot without thinking, but the ball only hit the crossbar.

In the end of the match we saw the advantage of the Royals and then Alex Remiro had to prove his class. First he stopped Aurelien Tchouameni, even though after his shot the ball bounced off one of the defenders, and then he saved a long-range shot by Jude Bellingham and the result did not change. The guests won, but they also have a problem, because Dani Ceballos, who was recently the leader of the team's midfield, got injured.

Real Madrid have a one-goal advantage before the return match at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 1. Before that, the Royals will also play Betis (March 1), Atletico Madrid (March 4 and 12), Rayo Vallecano (March 9), Villarreal (March 15) and Leganes (March 30).
