Aryna Sabalenka sent a clear signal to Iga Świątek. Surprising scenes on the court

The Belarusian returns to the grass courts of Wimbledon after a year's break. Aryna Sabalenka did not participate in the 2024 edition due to injury. Now, however, she clearly wants to attack hard, who knows, maybe even to the final and reach for the trophy of the most legendary tournament in the world.
Aryna Sabalenka had problems in London. An important signal for Iga ŚwiątekThis year's Wimbledon is a bit crazy in terms of the number of surprises that have already occurred in the first round of singles - both among women and men. Big names have already said goodbye to the tournament, led by American Coco Gauff (number 2 in the bracket) and German Sasha Zverev (tournament "top three").
Iga Świątek advanced to the second round, relatively easily, looking at other favourites or favourites. The aforementioned Sabalenka is also on a good track for further successes. Although in Wednesday's second round match, the Belarusian had her problems. The Czech Marie Bouzkova pressed hard, even coming out 6:5 at the end of the first set with a break of the world leader's serve.
Sabalenka managed to break back (6:6), and then decide the tie-break in her favor. In the second set, however, it was no easier for the Belarusian, who won 6:4 – only finding a way to break Bouzkova once.
This is a clear signal for Świątek. The Polish player has already lost several well-known names on her side of the tournament ladder, led by the aforementioned "number two" Gauff. There is also no "number three" from Wimbledon in the game, Jessica Pegula also dropped out in the first round. It may therefore turn out that the Polish player - playing at the right level - will achieve a lifetime success at this year's Wimbledon. And Sabalenka, who is giving signals that she can be pushed harder, is also an obstacle to overcome. However, the earliest the two women can meet is in the final. Which, by the way, would be a dream match, looking at the past and the rivalry of both women on the biggest courts around the world.
At this stage, however, it should be noted that both players still have a lot of playing ahead of them during the Grand Slam tournament in London.
Iga Świątek's memories of Wimbledon. The Pole was a champion! The best Polish tennis player in history has quite good memories of the legendary tournament in London. At 24 years old, Świątek won the junior tournament at Wimbledon in 2018. It was certainly a valuable moment for the tennis player from Raszyn near Warsaw, who was starting to dream of great successes.
Looking at the results achieved in the senior edition in London, Świątek performed best during the 2023 edition. At that time, the Polish player reached the quarterfinals of the event. For comparison, in the other Grand Slam tournaments, the Polish champion reached at least the semifinals (Australian Open) or won the finals (Roland Garros and US Open).
