Bad luck for Hubert Hurkacz! Bad news just before the Pole's match

The Wrocław native and the best singles player in the United States will probably have to wait a bit longer for the right moment to start the duel, because the weather conditions in Geneva are unlucky.
It is in Switzerland, during the ATP 250 tournament, that Hubert Hurkacz and Taylor Fritz are to play in an exciting quarter-final of the event.
It was originally assumed that the match between the Pole and the American would start at 3:00 p.m. However, it is already known that the organizers had to postpone the match, so it is possible that, if the weather permits, we will see the first ball of this match around 5-6 p.m.
Hubert Hurkacz in increasingly better form. How will the Pole play in Paris? In the case of the tennis player from Wrocław, Polish fans can look to the future with optimism. It seems that Hurkacz has regained the joy of playing, remembering, for example, the Pole's performance in Rome. During the ATP 1000 tournament, the Wrocław player repeated the result from the 2024 season, reaching the quarterfinals of the event in Italy. Interestingly, the Pole was again eliminated by... the same opponent. In both 2024 and 2025, Hurkacz was defeated by the American Tommy Paul.
The difference, however, is that the Pole is currently outside the top thirty of the ATP ranking. Last season, the situation was completely different, Hurkacz was in the top ten and was one of the most interesting names on the tour. Currently, the main question in the context of the Pole is the issue of the healed knee injury. Hurkacz suffered an injury at last year's Wimbledon, which caused him to lose almost half of the season - including the trip to the Olympics in Paris.
Perhaps in the current campaign, the capital of France will have an opportunity to show off his good side. Hurkacz, playing in Rome, showed an interesting, different tennis. Offensive, in which many of the Pole's strengths were appropriately used. How much will this give in the future? We can hope that Hurkacz will start climbing the ranking ladder again, so that he can calmly get opportunities to be seeded in the most important tournaments of the season.
The tournament at Roland Garros in Paris starts next Sunday (May 25).
