Ekstraliga rugby: Juvenia must wait to return to its stadium
"We will play the beginning of the new season as a guest team, as we will only be able to return to our home turf after the construction work is completed and the facilities are ready. This is planned for the end of September, so we are preparing a grand opening in October," reads the Krakow team's Wednesday announcement.
Juvenia's rugby players haven't played at their home stadium since the start of the 2024/2025 season. As Kajetan Cyganik, spokesman for the Kraków club, recalled, they were temporarily hosting opponents at the Zwierzyniecki KS stadium, which is located nearby, also in Błonia.
— We cannot announce now that we will continue to play there, because we first need to reach an agreement with this club on this matter — a representative of the Kraków "Dragons" told PAP.
Once the work is completed, fans will be able to enjoy the new grandstand. Approximately 1,500 spectators will be able to watch matches. The investment also includes the construction of two club buildings.
Juvenia finished last season in fifth place. The Polish Rugby Union has not yet announced a fixture list for the 2025/2026 season. According to unofficial reports, the first round is scheduled for the weekend of August 23/24.
