Feio under fire. "Aggression is his downfall"

Legia Warsaw coach Goncalo Feio has recently come under fire from the media due to Legia Warsaw's poor results and some of its statements. He also received flak on Polsat Futbol Cast from Tomasz Hajta and Roman Kołtoń.
During the winter break, Legia Warsaw only managed one win in four games in the Ekstraklasa. After a draw with Korona Kielce and defeats with Piast Gliwice and Radomiak, discussions about the future of Goncalo Feio have resurfaced. The capital club is eight points behind leader Lech Poznań and could go four seasons without a Polish championship.

The Portuguese coach's poor results and several controversial statements did not escape the attention of our experts. Roman Kołtoń and Tomasz Hajto talked about Feio in Wednesday's Polsat Futbol Cast podcast.
- Feio got a huge chance to manage one of the three or four biggest clubs in the history of Polish football. However, he had problems in Lublin, and in Wisła too. As a Pole and a former footballer, I didn't like his stay in the Canal+ studio. I don't remember anyone behaving with such arrogance and reluctance - said Hajto.
- Feio is probably extreme. It's not like I haven't met coaches who are very arrogant and specific. The late coach Janusz Wójcik was like that too - an amazing coach who brought home an Olympic medal. Feio definitely has something about him when it comes to coaching, but he doesn't fully confirm it in Legia - replied Kołtoń.
- Aggression is his downfall - he added. Zbigniew Jakubas [owner of Motor Lublin, where Feio worked - editor's note] said that Feio improved a few things in this club. He influenced the level of professionalism, although he took the transfer policy upon himself and made eight out of ten transfers that were unsuccessful. In my opinion, he lacks experience, and combined with an explosive character, he cannot sovereignly throw the team around.
- He's a guy who introduces himself as "I know better, I'll manage, I'll make better versions of the players." I don't see the best versions he coaches. I didn't see that especially in the spring. They finished third, but that doesn't mean Kosta Runjaić wouldn't finish third.
- When we present him with a list of sins at the introductory press conference, he says that it will never happen to him again. And what is the sequence of events? He clashes with the head scout Radosław Mozyrek, he speaks out against the club's owner Dariusz Mioduski in the locker room after the match with Djurdgaden, and Jacek Zieliński loses his job - RoKo summed up.
Feio's future is very much in question. The elimination from the Polish Cup in the clash with Jagiellonia Białystok could be the final nail in his coffin. For Legia, this match will be an attempt to save the season.
