On Tuesday, the Polish Handball Association announced the extension of the contract with women's handball coach Arne Senstad until at least the European Championships in 2026. On the same day, Marcin Lijewski said goodbye to his position as coach of the men's national team.
The Polish Handball Association announced two very important decisions on Tuesday, February 25. First, there was news about the coach of the men's national team - Marcin Lijewski. After the unsuccessful world championships, the leaders of the Polish association decided to say goodbye to the coach.

On the same day, information was also published regarding the extension of the contract with the handball coach Arne Senstad. The Norwegian is to lead the White and Reds at least until the European Championships, which will take place in 2026.
It is worth recalling that it was under Senstad's baton that the Polish women made progress in sports. The Norwegian coach took over the team in 2019 and since then the White and Reds have qualified for all important international events except the Olympic Games.
The best result of Polish handball players in recent years was achieved in November 2024, when they took a high ninth place at the European Championships.
